The Sport Injuries Centre (SIC, previously known as Sport Injuries Clinic) is located in the UCT Sports Centre on Upper Campus of UCT in Rondebosch. The Sport Injuries Centre was renamed on request of the HPCSA as rules in naming of practices prohibit using the term clinic when 24-hour emergency services are not on offer. We used the opportunity to update our logo as well.

The practice opened its doors to the general public in 1997.

Special parking is provided for non-UCT patients at Visitors and Reception and Information Centre, located across the road/ main entrance to the UCT Sports Centre. All patients without a UCT parking disc has to report to VRIC, where you will be assisted and allocated parking by Charmaine and Felicity.

UCT students (full-time registered students) can read more about our walk-in services introduced in 2015. Please note that these walk-in services have been suspended for the remainder of 2016.

Due to the ongoing security issues on campus, the Sports Injuries Clinic is currently unable to operate from the UCT Sports Centre.  Concern for our clients’ well-being and the safety of their possessions has necessitated that we move our physiotherapy operations off-campus for an indefinite period of time.

Be assured that we are doing our utmost to maintain our customary high standards of treatment at our premises off campus.  We would like to apologise to all our clients for any inconvenience caused by this move, but the situation is unfortunately out of our control.  All off-site  facilities are located within an accessible 2km radius from campus.  All our physiotherapists remain committed to providing treatment of the highest quality.

Should you need to contact us, please use the following e-mail addresses as we do not have access to our landlines at the moment:  helene@sic.org.za or info@sic.org.za.

For account queries or payments, contact Judy at accounts@sic.org.za.  Please note that we’ll be in contact well in advance should there be any need to change your appointment. Please note that we are doing eft payments as we do not have card facilities off-campus.

Please check in regularly on our website as we will post updates on the situation on campus.  You could also access comments from Vice Chancellor Dr Max Price online at www.uct.ac.za.

All our physiotherapists are available to see patients, but we have had to change our working hours from 10h00 with last appointments at 16h00 to accommodate the situation.

We would once again like to express our regret for the inconvenience caused by this situation, but trust that you will continue to support our team.

Kind regards

The Sports Injuries Centre team
